Kuala Lumpur is a very multicultural and diverse city. From its neighborhoods and its inhabitants to its religions and cuisines to the industries and opportunities, KL really does offers something for everyone.

There is such a variety of lifestyles here that there truly is a fit for every one and every family. This is especially accurate when it comes to choosing the right suburb or area in Kuala Lumpur to call home.

From our professional experience the vast majority of expatriates living in Kuala Lumpur predominantly live in one of five areas of the Greater KL region. This is namely due to nearby schools and the popular expat communities which they offer. We refer to these as our Expatriate Hotspots.

Expat Hotspots

Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC)

Excellent residential choice for those who work within the city centre or enjoy living in close proximity to all the shopping, nightlife and entertainment that KL has to offer. Ultimate convenience!

Mont Kiara

Home to many deluxe houses and high-rise condos, some of which are quite luxurious with excellent facilities. Amenities are aplenty, including three international schools (MKIS, GIS, LFKL).

High on the preferred list of many discerning expats, Bangsar’s appeal can be attributed to the community-based facilities/amenities placed within walking distance of the cosy residential areas.

Fairly close to KLCC, most of the foreign embassies are close to the KL end of Jalan Ampang and therefore many diplomats choose to live in here. Nearby international schools– ISKL, Sayfol & Fairview.

Damansara Heights

Also known as Bukit Damansara, it was once dubbed as the Beverly Hills of KL. Located <5km from the city, this much sought-after residential area consists of large detached houses & luxury condos.

Other Locations

Bukit Tunku

Formerly known as Kenny Hills, it is an upper-class elite residential area full of green landscapes. Bukit Tunku hosts many luxury condos and private villas that are home to many politicians and VIPs.

Desa Sri Hartamas

Popular with expats due to its excellent location, greenery and isolation; despite being only 15 mins away from KLCC. This neighborhood has a “park-feel” and is situated close to a commercial centre.

Taman Tun Dr Ismail

Fondly referred to as TTDI, it is an affluent major township in Kuala Lumpur consisting of an upper middle class residential area with some commercial development. Easily accessible to both KL and PJ.

Desa Park City

An award-winning masterplanned development, DPC is one of the most sought-after townships in KL West with it New Urbanist (gated) community living concept. Has its own central park & commercial area.

Petaling Jaya

Commonly known as PJ, there are plenty of companies located here; and for expats working in this part of the Klang Valley, there is a great range of reasonably priced property to choose from.
